Disproportionated gum rosin is a thermoplastic resin obtained from the steam distillation of pine oleoresin, modified by heat treatment and catalysis to reduce the abietic acid content found in natural gum rosin.
These resins are compatible with a wide range of common polymers and resins, including EVA, SIS, SBR, natural rubber, butyl rubber, hydrocarbon resins and terpene resins. They are soluble in aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, esters and ketones.
