Rosin esters, glycerol esters and penta esters – are used as plasticizer in chewing gum base products. This are specially manufactured esters, additive free, to be used as food ingredients. They are specially deodorized so they are almost odourless and tasteless. Polyterpene resins also can be used in chewing gum as plasticizer. Deodorized glyceol esters are also used as flavour weighing agent in beverage industry.
